About Dan's Great Dane, Zara

...Ever found an apple in your bed?

I have. And I was stunned because I don't keep apples in my bed.

I keep them in the apple bowl downstairs on the counter.

Well, it turns out this Great Dane, Zara, takes apples off the counter when I'm on the phone and she feels she's not getting the attention she needs!

...It's just one of many odd quirks that come along with living with Zara, my 180-pound Great Dane.
You can see her below engaging in one of her other odd quirks: callous disregard for obvious rules!
Here, she stands on the furniture:

And here she wakes up from her nap on my outdoor dinner table:

Anyway, that's what you get when living with Zara. Just when you think she's calmed down (she's older now), she comes up with a new one for you.

Harmless shenanigans aside, she's a pretty good dog to live with. Since Great Danes are a low-energy breed, we spend a lot of time just laying on the couch and relaxing together.

When we're not doing that, we do go on walks, short hikes, and brief excursions to the dog park.

She takes her job as protector of my property a little too seriously. And I do my best to help her realize when protection is or is not needed.

Overall, she's a great dog. And her companionship and protection I both need and appreciate.

And I'll be sure to show your dog(s) or cat(s) the same bit of love and attention I give Zara!
